Participation & Costs
- Club Dive Fee: Participation in a club dive costs NOK 100.
- Equipment Rental: The only personal gear you need to bring is a mask and flippers. If you need to rent a dry suit, it costs NOK 100 per dive. The rest of the necessary equipment is available for you to borrow free of charge as a member of SUB-BSI.
Tips for first timers
Essential gear
- ABC Equipment: Make sure to bring your mask and fins—these are the basics for any dive.
Clothing and Comfort
- Warm Clothes: Our rental diving suits are laminate suits, which are thin and offer little insulation. We recommend wearing 2-3 layers of long-sleeved and long-legged wool or other thermal underwear underneath the suit. If you have specialized scuba undersuits, they’re even better, especially in colder water.
- Extra Clothes and a Towel: You might get wet during the dive, so it’s a good idea to have something warm and dry to change into afterwards.
- Warm, Windproof Outer Clothes: After a dive, you might feel chilly, and our dive sites can often be windy. Make sure to bring good shoes, a hat, gloves, and a scarf to stay comfortable.
Food and Drink
- Snacks and a Warm Drink: Diving can be energy-intensive, so pack some snacks and a warm drink to enjoy after your dive. It’s always nice to have a little energy boost!
